Southern Cut Barbecue, formerly known as The Local Chicago, opened it’s doors last Friday, February 3, 2017 after undergoing several months of renovations, restructuring and re-branding. With it’s intimate country feel and smoky, sophisticated menu from the masterminds of Chicago Ocean Cut and Chicago Cut Steakhouse, the new space boasts a 6-seat kitchen counter, an extensive bourbon and microbrew menu and a playlist consisting of all the best country music hits.
Executive Chef, Lee Ann Whippen, brings her more than 18 years of barbecue expertise to the restaurant, setting the stage for Southern Cut Barbecue to become an elegant and friendly Chicago favorite.
